Dr. Eric B. Bauman is an award winning innovator and educational designer and strong advocate for multidisciplinary and interprofessional education and research. He has provided executive production leadership, subject matter expertise and consultation on over 20 digital and game based learning solutions. Baumanâ€™s expertise focuses on the development of game-based teaching and learning using innovative technology including mobile learning platforms and virtual and augmented reality. His experience spans various disciplines, including, adult education, human factors analysis, team dynamics, emergency medical services, firefighting, and healthcare. He has presented on various topics at numerous regional, national, and international conferences and has authored and co-authored book chapters and articles on game and simulation-based education and evaluation. He has presented his work at the White House and National Academies of Science. Bauman was recently named a fellow for the Society for Simulation in Healthcare for his work related to the use of game-based teaching and learning in healthcare. Bauman is part of the senior leadership team for innovation and strategy for Adtalem Global Education. In addition, he is the founding/managing member of Clinical Playground LLC, the nexus of academic and industry collaboration focusing on the use of simulation and game-based learning for health sciences, public safety, and science education.
