Biography

Brenda is an educator from Ontario, Canada who has been an elementary classroom teacher, special education teacher, technology coach, and vice-principal. She has just recently completed a secondment as an Education Officer in the 21st Century Learning Unit of the Ontario Ministry of Education, in the newly formed Incubation and Design Branch. Holding a Master in Education (Curriculum Teaching and Learning) from the Ontario Institute of Studies in Education, with an emphasis on constructivist learning approaches and educational technology, Brenda’s passion for teacher learning has led her to work with educators in Ontario and beyond, both face-to-face and virtually. She has co-founded Minds On Media, a learner driven professional learning model, chaired the Educational Computing Organization of Ontario’s Annual Conference, and develops and facilitates professional learning for the Ontario Teachers’ Federation. She is an instructor of Additional Qualifications Courses for in-service teachers at Wilfrid Laurier University and semi regularly shares her thoughts and resources on her blog at Learning Zone and @brendasherry on twitter.
