Melissa Murfin is a physician assistant, clinical pharmacist, and healthcare educator with 8 years of experience teaching physician assistant and pharmacy students. Originally from Florida, she earned a B.S. in Molecular and Microbiology at the University of Central Florida before heading north to the University of Florida where she completed a dual degree program that resulted in a Master of Physician Assistant Studies and a Doctor of Pharmacy degree. She has practiced as both a PA and a pharmacist, primarily in the areas of endocrinology and internal medicine.
Dr. Murfin grew up in a family that spent weekends playing board games and learned to play cards from her naval officer grandfather. Her passion for active learning led to the development of games for the classroom to assist students in retrieval practice and finding new ways to engage with course material. In her free time, she can be found running, reading, and eagerly awaiting the next Star Trek series.
